Channel KRT is a cool podcast but they need to rename it Channel "Fever-Dream"

Well, this post is a little late but at least on the day. And . . .

I got nothing.

I’ve been working my day job a lot. And with some coworkers being out soon for unknown lengths of time, I’m likely going to be getting more hours in the near future. Yay, retail! Ugh!

Well, I at least did get some writing. I wrote some pages to a chapter and did some proofread a little. But, yeah, I have no real updates on writing.

But, I can talk anime and I’m going to now!

I’ve seen some decent anime I could recommend. “Sacrificial Princess and the King of Beasts” was a really well done show with cool anthropomorphic designs. It is about a human girl who is made the 99th sacrifice by the human kingdom to the beast kingdom due to a peace treaty and such. But come to find out, the girl and the beast king hit it off “Beauty and the Beast” style and drama ensues. I recommend the series, it was fun and exciting.

Another anime I’m currently watching little by little is “Skull-Face Bookseller Honda-San”. It is about a literal skeleton working at a Japanese books store. And as someone who works retail, this hits home. But I never worked at a bookstore and I’m not going to lie, this show makes working at one look so exciting and full of good vibes. At least to me, it looks like a fun time. I’ve been watching this one little by little because the episodes are only eleven minutes long and go by pretty fast.

I discovered an anime called “RE:Zero” which starts out as a typical isekai. Some random late teen guy gets transported to a fantasy world, meets a cute elf girl, tries to helps her out and then gets brutally murdered. Yeah, the animation makes this seem like a wholesome fantasy anime and then the lead gets just slaughtered in graphic animated epicness. And this guy’s superpower is to restart hours before his death and still remember the previous day. This has been a pretty damn good anime but the first season’s episodes are an hour long a piece, so if you check it out, have some time set aside.

“Diary of Our Days at the Breakwater” is an anime about fishing. And that’s it, a girl joins her high school’s fishing club and they fish. And it was the perfect chill anime to watch before bed. You know, there is nothing wrong with shows being just dull enough to have so much chill that you fall asleep to them. But it was still an interesting and engaging show despite the little interest I had with fishing.

I’ve seen other animes but I’ll save a rant on those later. This past week has been a lot of being at work and taking in the spring weather as it comes. Finally, spring is returning and even the high forties feel like a heatwave. Maybe I can be energized enough to do more with writing.

Wow, I am so unfocused right now.

I’m listening to a podcast (Shout out to Channel KRT) on Honey, I Shrunk the Kids: The TV Show and so many random fever dream imagery just flooding my mind. I remember that demon bunny episode, so freaking weird. So 90s!

While writing this blog and listening to the podcast, I looked up stuff on some weird things just now. Like, for some reason Felix the Cat came to mind and I really do not know why because he is not brought up in the podcast at all.

For some unholy reason, I recall in my youth watching a bit of the Felix the Cat movie from 1988 and I swear, the Twisted Tales of Felix the Cat TV show references that movie by having the lead villain make a comeback. Or maybe I’m getting dome headed villains confused from Felix’s extensive rogues gallery. Felix the cat having a rogues gallery, ha, I’ve been watching and absorbing way too much superhero stuff to think that the freaking cat cartoon from 1919 has a villains roster. But now that I said that out loud, it would kind of be cool to have Felix fight random villains (who would be as randomly made and imaginative as 90s antagonists can be).

Why, though? Why freaking Felix the Cat of all things coming to my mind? Like, why? Why am I thinking of this random trivia when it has nothing to do with the podcast I was listening to?

Maybe because 90s nostalgia is the kind of drug that kicks your brain backwards in time to be exposed to other fever dream TV weirdness that was aimed at my generation.

So, the Phantasm movies were only briefly referenced from the podcast and I went on a journey looking up those classic gore fests. Honestly, I have not seen those movies but they are on a list of horror movies I told myself never to watch but probably will just for LOLz. But at least, I get why my ADHD had me look up Phantasm, because it was briefly named dropped in a podcast.

Hell, I looked this up, because of course I did, the last thing regarding Felix the Cat was a show made for Japanese audiences called Baby Felix. And with how big the eyes are on this show, this is probably an anime. But anyway, this show was made in the 2001! Twenty-four years and not even the people who own the rights to Felix the Cat have thought about Felix the Cat! So why, why, why, why did my brain decide to use energy on Felix the Cat.

Anyway, I’m going to try and get this out today. So, yeah, ending this long rant for the week before the podcast triggers another random fever dream.

Good Luck and yeah for walking outdoors without a jacket again! YEAH!

PS: And now, the podcast mentioned Brundlefly and why not look at Jeff Goldblum mutate into a fly monster and . . . I need to go for a walk, get away from the computer, and get some air. Hot damn, my brain is random today 🪰
