So what to talk about this week? Well, things are slowly returning to normal. And the itching has gone down and lowers each day. But enough about that, let’s talk “cookies”!
I’ve tried “crumbl cookies” recently for the first time. And the oreo-like and chocolate chips are tasty. Though I will admit, it was awkward to stand in line and have no idea what was going on. Seriously, I’m not used to a place being so popular and packed. I actually had to share cookies from a friend because I was too awkward to just ask for some.
And I still only pay in cash. I know, I’m a dinosaur like that. And there was a lot involved at crumbl cookies that required payment with a credit card. I am getting used to ordering stuff online but if I’m physically there at the cookie place, I want to use cash. I’m just old fashioned like that. I mean, paper and coin money still exists, so I’m going to use them. Ha!
Okay, on writing stuff now. I have been hyperfocused on writing an article on the works of HP Lovecraft. Still pecking away at it but I am more than halfway done. I am not going to reveal much about it but it is an article series I hope to have out by February. It’s been fun going back to good old Hit-Points and enjoying his library.
A friend of mine went to Gen Con one year and bought me something at the HP Lovecraft Historical Society’s tables. They had HPL audiobooks on a cool USB and my friend got me one. I have been listening to these awesome audiobooks for my HPL article. Highly recommend checking the HPLHS’s website for all kinds of Lovecraftian goodies.

This website is so nice to look at, I’m salty-jelly. Love it!
Oh, I might as well say this here. HPLHS HQ is located in Los Angeles and my heart and prayers to all those who have been affected by the wildfires. Please, everyone be safe. I do hope California residents can recover from this terrible event soon.
Moving on to more HPL, I rediscovered the HP Lovecraft Archives which features much of his work in text. It's one of the best sites to find his work for free. The pros and cons of being in the public domain.

Let’s see, what else? There will be an article on “The Last Job: File 3454” on the site BookTrib. Excitement! I have no idea what this article is going to say! I look forward to it and seeing some constructive critiques. And maybe, just maybe, the article will draw some people to Zach and I’s website. Maybe? If it has, hello there! And welcome to the humble website of one Buck Bloom.
The article comes out on 1/16 and I might add a link here or make a whole separate blog on it.
What else to talk about? Oh, still deciding what will be the next blog stories. I have a few in mind but I need to narrow it down to two, at least, one for Saturdays and one for Sundays. Hey, here is a good question: what genres should I tackle next?
I have already done a Goth Romance/Farce and a Horror/Comedy. I do want to do a Slice-of-Life or maybe a straight up serious Drama. Yes, one story at least on the site should take itself seriously instead of stories being comedies and farces all the time. And I do have a handful of Slice-of-Life stories in mind, those should be relaxing to do. I should at least start working on the next blog stories around the end of January . . . hopefully.
Anyway, we shall see what next week brings.
Good Luck and I giggle anytime HPL uses the word “DANK”,
—Buck
PS: The HPLHS also have audiobooks on USB of HPL works he collaborated with authors and of HPL’s favorite weird literature. Drooling so much right now, aaaaagh!
